The STARS4Water Story Maps translate scientific evidence on climate change, water availability and future water-management challenges into accessible visual narratives.

This tutorial focuses on the Danube River Basin Story Map, which presents current water conditions, projected climate-change impacts and possible adaptation pathways across one of Europe’s major transboundary river basins. During the tutorial, participants are guided through the Story Map and shown how maps, graphics, concise text and interactive elements are used to communicate complex scientific results to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. Particular attention is given to how the Story Map moves from the basin context and current conditions to future climate scenarios, adaptation options and stakeholder relevance, while maintaining a clear and intuitive narrative structure.
