STARS4Water in collaboration with INBO organized session 4B on “Data and information for climate change adaptation in basins” at the second day of the conference for representatives from river basins around the world and other stakeholders. This session presented the interest and potential of new data services and digital tools to meet the challenges of basin organizations, included those provided by the STARS4Water project and its Metadata portal. STARS4Water partner Rijkswaterstaat moderated the session and partner Deltares gave the key note presentation on “Supporting STakeholders for Adaptive, Resilient and Sustainable Water Management by co-creation in data science, information and knowledge – The Rhine river basin”. A series of other ignite presentations from distinguished panelists from various river basins and organisations around the world on how data and modeling are put into practice to better understand water resources availability followed. At last, the panel discussion with the audience provided also an opportunity to survey basin management stakeholders on the data and information required, according to them, for water resources assessment and planning.
