Many river basin managers and forecasting agencies already use large-scale hydrological models. However, local datasets are often available and can potentially improve simulations. This webinar demonstrates how a large-scale European model setup, namely the LISFLOOD hydrological model, can be improved using local data, drawing on an example of the Drammen River basin. We elaborate which parts of the model can be refined, how these refinements affect model performance, and which improvements provide the greatest benefit.
Learning Objectives
- Which components of LISFLOOD can be improved with local data
- Which changes might have a substantial impact on model results
Target Audience
- River basin managers and practitioners working with water resources planning or forecasting
Keywords
LISFLOOD, large-scale hydrological model, local data, Drammen River Basin
