SUMMARY:STARS4Water Annual General Assembly and Steering Group Meetings\, Segovia Spain
DESCRIPTION:STARS4Water will hold its annual General Assembly meeting in Segovia on the 24-26th of September 2024. The meeting is organized by Deltares and the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME-CSIC). During this all partners’ meeting will we discuss the up-to-date project progress\, will interact across teams and work packages\, and will plan ahead for the 3rd year of our project. A dedicated session is foreseen for young professionals with pitch deck presentations of their research. A field trip to the Duero River Basin Hub is also planned\, where the participants will visit the basin area\, and will have the opportunity to interact with local stakeholders.

SUMMARY:WMO-IDMP Drought Resilience +10 Conference
DESCRIPTION:Following up on the first High-level meeting on National Drought Policies in 2013\, the Drought Resilience +10 Conference aims to scale up and accelerate drought action on the ground. It will bring together countries\, experts\, and practitioners to review progress and lessons learned in drought management to explore and define a joint way forward toward a more drought-resilient world. \nGoals of the conference: \n\nReflect on successes and challenges of the past 10 years of drought risk management to learn how to achieve drought resilience in the next decade;\nConsolidate and plan jointly how drought resilience can be brought to scale to respond to the accelerating impacts of climate change in the next decade;\nWork with political leaders to strengthen awareness\, mobilize resources\, prioritize drought\, and increase commitments to building drought resilience and implementing Integrated Drought Management.\n\nThe STARS4Water will participate and present a Poster on  “Shared strategic drought risk management in the transboundary Rhine River basin” (Monday 30th September – Poster board no. 28) \nThe event will be held in hybrid format.
